‘Gucci Plus’ was Paolo Gucci’s dream as it would be his own label. It wasn’t really that he wanted to break away from the family to get it. If his family had agreed, he would have been happy to work on the new line within the family business. GG Plus is now the official name, coated canvas is a description of what it is. GG original canvas, Crystal covered (a plastic sheet over canvas) and GG Supreme (an eco-friendly version of GG Plus) are different.

In addition to GG Plus and Crystal GG, there is also "Dialux" fabric which is another coated fabric that looks like patent leather.
^ crystal has a plastic coating on the canvas. For lack of better analogy think of a couch with plastic coating on it (sorry crystal lovers lol). GG plus looks more like LV canvas, more classic and versatile IMO. I'm still looking for the perfect GG plus bag. I wish Gucci would make one with a zipper top.
