Both are dressy sports watches that could easily be worn with jeans and t-shirt, in the pool or with a suit. I am adamant the 34mm 114200 fits a 6" wrist just fine. The sales lady, my wife, and some others disagreed entirely. Watch enthusiasts on this board said it was a fine fit. The Explorer has, in my opinion, a much better clasp with the Easy Link extension and a safety fold. Aesthetically the Explorer is supposed to look more sporty and rugged with the smooth bezel, dial and hands. The OP39 is more dressy with the domed bezel and quite formal looking dial and hands.
Powered by the proven Calibre 3132, this features Rolex’s Parachrom hairspring, the Paraflex shock protection system, and has around 48 hours or power reserve. It’s not Rolex’s most cutting edge movement, but then again it’s a perfectly appropriate choice for this entry-level, time-only piece. The one you choose comes down to preference (obviously), with the Oyster Perpetual offering far more in the way of variety where sizes and colors are concerned, while the Explorer remains a no-nonsense tool watch – something of a rarity at Rolex these days.

Oyster Perpetual reference 114300 is the 39mm variant, which is understandably the most popular of the range, given contemporary size preferences. Rolex released this in 2015, with three uncharacteristic but very refreshing dials – dark rhodium, red grape and blue. Rolex Submariner 114060: 40mm, 47,6 mm Lug-to-lug. I lean towards the OP as I prefer the simpler hand set and the applied crown on the dial. However, I prefer the pro clasp on the explorer. Whichever you choose, the basic oyster case and brushed oyster bracelet are iconic, timeless and have been used as the basis for hundreds of other watch designs, so you really can’t go wrong with either. Experience the enduring elegance of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual 114200, a 34mm masterpiece with a pristine white dial boasting the classic 3, 6, 9 Explorer indexes. Its Rolex 3130 Calibre COSC certified movement ensures precision, while the lumibright lumes add a touch of sophistication, making it equally enchanting in low-light settings.
