I've only seen one with numbers on the dial and I cannot get used to that. Plus, on my 7 3/4" wrists this model is just too small. Looks better in person than stock pictures online. It wears larger than 38mm, I would say closer to 40, so I would recommend for people who think the Professional is too large. The domed sapphire crystal has a parallax/magnification effect similar to hesalite. Chronograph pushers have a very nice beveled edge detail. I will say, a smaller Speedmaster generally appeals to me. I like the FOIS primarily for that reason. 38mm is pretty much the Goldilocks zone for watch sizing, IMO. If they make a Seamaster diver in 38mm, especially sans HE valve, I’ll throw my money all over them.
I think the 38 is geared as more of a ladies watch but there is no reason a man couldn’t wear one. Personally, I don’t care for the oval sub-registers, bezel, or date window on the 38. Moonwatch would be an easy choice for me. Also take a look at the heritage Speedmaster 57. It has a bit smaller case size than the Moonwatch and a better . And the manual says wind the watch until it gives resistance. However, on the other calibres in the manual it says wind clockwise or counter clockwise. For every Speedmaster Pro sold to one of us, there are probably 2-3 of the gold and diamonds Aqua Terras and Speedmaster 38s sold.
