Today, I looked down to see the time, and I noticed that the 7 O'clock stick marker was missing. Upon shaking the watch, I saw it loose inside the case, up against the side. I immediately stopped the movement by pulling the crown to prevent damage to the movement. Looking specifically at the OP's watch, the marker does not appear to be rotated, but rather shifted about 0.02mm to the left (measured off of the OP's picture, rescaled to 100 pixels per mm). Now, 0.02mm is 20µm, which is less .
Fortunately, the marker is stuck to the side of the dial at the 3 o'clock position.the watch is keeping perfect time, so i don't think any damage has occurred 🤞 As i said, the dial is in very nice condition - apart from one hour marker has fallen off, and a couple more is on the way - As you can see the glue is coming out from under the 11 marker forinstance. Either someone has been very poor at gluing these back on previously, or it's just falling apart. That's not an hour hand. It's an indice or hour marker Hands are what point to these. I can see a butcher job on the cards, so I'll happily entertain you. You need to remove the bracelet from the case to start. Remove stem. (Set to crown position 2 before removal)
No need to take the crystal off. Open up the Caseback, remove crown stem, remove movement screws, plop out movement, glue back triangle with GS hypo cement. Two markers fell off by themselves. I went into the AD and they sent the watch (and the warranty card) for repair free of charge. Two weeks later I had a new bezel on the watch. I've owned many a Rolex rep over the years of many types and qualities from all our dealers. The one consistant problem that send them to the watchmaker is the markers falling off the face. Does this EVER happen with Gens? You have two choices, 1) send to Rolex service center. They will inspect it, if it needs a service, they may also require a new dial. If everything is genuine Rolex, the cost will be 0.00 or more. 2) find a competent watchmaker, they can re-cement the index marker back on. The markers usually come off from a drop or another impact.
