Deployant clasp info/help needed. Much as I love the Pilot bracelet on my Headwind, I like to have options, and lately have been considering buying a leather strap as well. As the lug width is 22mm, I'd need a 22-20, or a 22-18 strap, and this is where things get complicated. I always find pin-buckles a pain in the backside to put on personally, but the new Breitling Premier Clasp fits a normal pin-buckle strap and makes it way easier to put on as it's more like the deployant clasp, but given the choice, I'd go deployant all the time. Hands-on review of the Breitling Super Avenger Chronograph 48 Night Mission - a tough, lightweight chronograph with a huge wrist presence. Finally bit the bullet and purchased an OEM rubber strap and deployant clasp for my Peter Blake Seamaster.
I'm looking at buying one or a number of Breitling Deployant clasps for leather straps, but there are so many different ones listed in various online marketplaces, that telling genuine from fake is difficult. Sometimes they are called “strap deployants,” or “deployant clasps,” or “butterfly clasps” (depending on their shape). What I am referring to are folding clasps fitted to the ends of watch straps that give watch straps an opening and closing experience similar to watch bracelets.
