My friend wants to make this right and get watch fixed so as not to embarass his father who gifted the watch in good faith.
just thought I'd tell a wee story about how Rolex won't service a vintage Air-King. Watch was serviced 10 years ago. The wife snagged it from me before I could sell it and wears it every Sunday.
